Anti-Islanding

Uncontrolled islanding creates dangers for electrical workers when they assume the area is safe and it becomes energised. Uncontrolled islanding can also create hazardous situations when the power supply is reconnected. Electrical equipment can also be damaged by low power quality in the island.

It is a requirement for all inverters in Australia to have anti-islanding protection. Under Evoenergy’s network in the ACT all inverters must be tested every 5 years.

The ECG team are CEC-accredited solar installers and are qualified to undertake anti-islanding testing requirements.

Anti-Islanding tests are charged at $165 + GST.
